Anya is a passionate Edmontonian with a strong background in business development and a deep love for her community. With over 10 years of experience in the tech industry, she envisioned Local Lens as a way to connect residents with the hidden gems and unique businesses that make Edmonton special. Anya holds an MBA from the University of Alberta and is actively involved in various local initiatives aimed at supporting small businesses.

Ben Carter

CTO

Ben is a seasoned technology expert with a knack for creating innovative and user-friendly platforms. He leads the technical development of Local Lens, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for both users and businesses. Ben has a degree in Computer Science from NAIT and is constantly exploring new technologies to enhance the platform's capabilities. Chloe Dubois

Marketing Director

Chloe is a creative and results-driven marketing professional with a passion for storytelling. She oversees the marketing and communications efforts at Local Lens, ensuring that the platform reaches a wide audience and effectively promotes local businesses. Chloe has a degree in Marketing from MacEwan University and is dedicated to helping Edmonton businesses thrive through strategic marketing initiatives. She is a strong advocate for supporting local and building community connections.

Our Story

Local Lens was born out of a simple idea: to make it easier for Edmontonians to discover and support the incredible local businesses that make our city unique. It all started when Anya Sharma, our CEO, found herself struggling to find reliable recommendations for local services and products. Frustrated with generic online directories and impersonal review sites, she envisioned a platform that would not only showcase the best businesses in Edmonton but also foster a sense of community and connection.

Together with Ben Carter, our CTO, and Chloe Dubois, our Marketing Director, Anya embarked on a journey to bring Local Lens to life. They spent months researching the Edmonton business landscape, gathering feedback from residents and business owners, and developing a platform that would meet the needs of the community. From its humble beginnings as a small startup, Local Lens has grown into a trusted resource for discovering Edmonton's best local businesses.
